Just DO One Main Thing!

Sermons
As I write this our Senior Pastor is in hospital again – the intense pain and cancer advancing, the tumor growing again, paralyzing him in the bladder and bowels, and crushing his spine.
The cancer is very aggressive and we had so hoped that with the surgery, radiation and chemo that there was a real improvement. But this weeks MRI showed the tumor is right back to where it was when he had his surgery.
We need a miracle.
The Lord thankfully is in the miracle working business, we pray for his perfect will, in his perfect time.
Throughout the trial and troubles of illness, cancer, homelessness, satanic attacks, Job trials, death of our loved ones, and so many miles separating us all over the last 25 years…this church has endured… and the Lord has made one thing clear, he has a plan.
Over and over he has given us precious promises to just keep us going, promises that keep our eyes on him and not the circumstances of life.

I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Revelation 3:8

Promises to hang on to during the rough times, promises to remember and quote when our faith and hope wane.

And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Hab.2:2-4

The battle is the Lord’s and we as church body, have been asked to do only one main thing – worship.
  • Worship during the good times
  • Worship during the trials and tribulations
  • Worship during the sicknesses and pain
  • Worship during the victories
  • Worship during the pain of separation
  • Worship during the pain of the loss of loved ones
  • Worship and rejoice at each new babe in Christ
  • Worship during financial hardship
  • and
  • Worship during times of weariness, hopelessness and trying of our faith.
Worship involves keeping our eyes on Jesus and not on the issues of life,
Life will always throw things at us that can be unbearable but when we chose to keep our eyes on Jesus , when we chose to look to him, to wait on him, to believe him, to believe the prophets he has sent, to believe his promises and to believe his Word, we can come to that place of praise, that place of worship that deep place of peace and trust and we will come out the other side no matter what happens.
Our God is Able!
Now is the time to chose to we what we are called to be the redeemed the Worshippers!
