Jan 01, 2020 – Reconciliation

Sermons

A very Happy New year to all!

I have always loved this time of year, a time for celebration and reflection. I love the repentance and change in the old Christmas movies like, “It’s A Wonderful Life” and of course “Scrooge” himself, a modern living example of the power of a changed life through Christ..

Last year the Lord gave me a word for the year it was restoration and during this year he has restored or is restoring many thing.

For 2020 he has given me the word – reconciliation, a beautiful word and one I look forward to.

rec·on·cil·i·a·tion

1.
the restoration of friendly relations.
“his reconciliation with your uncle”
synonyms: reuniting, reunion, bringing (back) together (again), conciliation, reconcilement; More
2.
the action of making one view or belief compatible with another.
“he aims to bring about a reconciliation between art and technology”

So in anticipation of the new year I always try to compete my time of repentance and set the record straight – this year with great hopes of reconsideration and re-connecting with many whom I’ve lost touch with during my illness..

I want to say how blessed I ma to have each of you in my life.

We may not always connect but each of you has brought meaning, joy and encouragement to my life and I am so thankful to the Lord for you.

So…

To those whom I have hurt through, unkindness, harsh words or misunderstanding,

To those whom I disappointed or failed to live up to a promise or an expectation,

To those I borrowed from and failed to return,

To those I made a promise and forgot through ill health,

To each of you whom I may have hurt or wronged in any way,

… my deepest apologies.

To those who may have been unkind to me, or failed me, or promised something they could not follow through on. or who hurt me knowingly or unknowingly – forgiveness is and always has be yours, freely and without strings attached.

To all I pray the Lord’s richest blessing for your health, your finances, your relationships, and that the Lord will grant you and yours great grace in the coming year and always!

May God bless and grant you and yours a fresh new beginning and a Happy New Year!

“2 Cor 5:17-21 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not [d]imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
